ROCOCO BLOOMS IN THEIR ... by SheelaGoh ROCOCO BLOOMS IN THEIR ... by SheelaGoh
An exceedingly opulent, statement style of 18th Century French art and interior design, the word Rococo is seen as a combination of the French rocaille (or shell) and the Italian barocco (or Baroque style).

Whichever way you look at its origins, the term Rococo describes the styles I love best - decadent artistry. Curvaceous forms and intricate patterns. A focus on asymmetric compositions.

And indeed the earrings Rococo Blooms In Their Gilded Glory are undulated manifestations of that era. Intentionally orchestrated to be delicate and visually light whilst remaining excessive and sensual all at the one same time, I think these earrings are my all time favourites.

The left side rediscovers the value of grace and playfulness in art and design. A bold Venetian Black Satin Rose has been outlined with 14K Gold Filled Seed Beads whilst a glorious Vintage Chartreuse Satin Ribbon Spray adds a burst of colour to the side. Dots of Genuine Burmese Pinkish Red Rondelles and AAA Grade Spessartine Briolettes come together in what has become my signature colour combination (or so I've been told :P). The dingle dangle of chains lends a lovely touch of biker babe charm.

We move to the right side now.

An Old Gothic style Victoriana Rose has been *heavily*, and I mean extensively, embellished with 14K Gold Filled Seed Beads. I really like this effect, reminds me so much of a Matador's bolero, yes? The centre wire-wrapped focal dangles as a separate entity and it itself has been bedecked beyond belief. Vintage White Venetian Laces create a frou frou souffle effect in the middle as Rare Ruby Moonstone Rondelles pepper in some vivid hues. Loads and loads of chains here, there and everywhere whilst a ménage à trois of more Spessartines ups the luxe ante so effortlessly.

Rococo Blooms In Their Gilded Glory measures 4.25" in length by 2" in width for the left side, and 2.5" in length by 2.25" in width for the contrasting right side. All wires used are 14K Gold Filled, including the frames, whilst those darling Leaf Motif Ear Posts are 24K Gold Vermeil.

{ COLLECTION }

ROCOCO BLOOMS IN THEIR GILDED GLORY is part of the BORDELLO QUEEN Collection.

Think Lolita meets dramatic Goth. A collection heavily infuenced by French lace and sexy corsetry with throwbacks to 17th Century drama and grandeur. Designs that combine age old techniques with stylised, unexpected, saucy storybook elements.

Intense. Naughty. Provocative. Real.

Hi!

I just wanted to let you know about a small possible typo. You write so beautifully so I thought I'd let you know.

Where it says:

measures 4.25" in length by 2" in width for the left side, and 2.5" in length by 2.25" in width for the contraste left side.

both measurements seem to be for the left side, although I may be misunderstanding your wording. If that is that case, then sorry for bothering you!

Again- I really love all of your pieces. You are so inspiring!
